Staffordshire University

By Edit | 4 Aug 2022

The client

Staffordshire University approached Edit with a request to support their programme to deliver a Next Generation Student Experience delivering hyper-personalisation, on-demand content and AI-powered Coaching, and Support.

The challenge

One of the key aims of the programme was to reduce dropouts from students from ethnic minority or lower income backgrounds.

The University knew they possessed the data to take their student engagement to the next level but lacked understanding of how to utilise it due to a complex data landscape within the institution.

The approach

Edit’s solution utilised the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing platform to help more students progress their education by:

Designing an intervention strategy powered by data driven insight from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights
Designing the most appropriate technical solution that equips with the capabilities needed
Creating a strategy to address any gaps in skills or organisational capability which may cause technology investment to deliver sub-optimal returns

The results

Staffordshire University now possess industry leading insight into student engagement at key times in the Academic Calendar and via a dedicated algorithm can identify and take the necessary steps to support students where necessary.

In addition, Edit have:

  • Allowed the University to unify core data sets along with engagement Welcome Week data as the start point give the project a strong starting point to gain insight quickly
  • Introduced a foundation of technical infrastructure that will provide a baseline to allow for more advanced data made decision making
