Salocin Group sponsors DMA UK Data Conference 2025

By Salocin Group | 27 Feb 2025

Group is delighted to be a key sponsor of the Data & Marketing Association UK (DMA UK) Data Conference, taking place 13 March 2025.

With the Data (Use & Access) Bill entering its final stages, begins a new era of data governance – the perfect time for government and regulatory leaders, data innovators and marketing thought-leaders to come together, to discuss the opportunities and challenges this bill brings.

Delegates can expect to learn about:

  • The regulatory impact of the DUA Bill on data governance and data protection
  • The latest approaches to ensure compliance, while driving responsible business growth through advancing AI, machine learning and predictive analytics
  • How Generative AI is reshaping marketing at scale

We’ll also be in attendance – get in touch to arrange a coffee and catch-up with our team on the day to discuss all things data compliance and AI ethics.

Charity email marketing soft opt-in

Chris Combemale, Director of Policy and Current Affairs at DMA UK, will deliver a keynote speech sharing insights on how they’ve successfully lobbied for the DUA Bill amendment to include soft opt-in for charity email marketing.

Wood for Trees, part of Salocin Group, data analysis was fundamental in securing this clause in the bill. Based on insights from 13.1m supporters across more than 20 UK charities, it was found that emailable supporters generate £35 more over a seven-year average lifetime compared to non-emailable supporters.

It was also found that enabling the soft opt-in could increase annual charity revenue by 3%, equating to £252m per year in England and Wales (when considering donations). Including Scotland and Northern Ireland, this figure rises to £290m annually, and in the next 10-15 years, improved supporter journeys via email could drive an additional £840m in income (including legacy giving).

DMA UK and Wood for Trees webinar

With this new legislation expected as soon as mid-2025, DMA UK is also planning to host a joint live webinar with Wood for Trees, to break down this potentially lucrative fundraising opportunity for UK charities further.

An expert panel will explain how to maximise email marketing for charities and share practical guidance, to understand the soft opt-in clause, manage compliance and consent, build a robust data foundation and develop an email marketing strategy.

Express your interest in the webinar by completing this form – we’ll email you once the webinar date and time has been confirmed, and you’re able to register to attend.

Help for charities navigating change

In the meantime, Wood for Trees can provide expert guidance to help charities navigate this legislative change for charity email marketing. We can help you:

  • Conduct Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs)
