Salocin Group sponsors TBE South West Charity Conference & Expo

By Salocin Group | 30 May 2025

We’re excited to announce Salocin Group is sponsoring the TBE South West Charity Conference & Expo on Thursday 5th June 2025 at Bath Racecourse. This annual event brings together regional charities, social enterprises and corporate partners looking to connect and collaborate, with the aim of creating a sense of community (this year’s theme!) and a more impactful future in the not-for-profit space.

As passionate advocates of purpose-driven marketing and insight-led engagement, we’re delighted to contribute to this event’s packed agenda. Read on to find out what we’ll be up to on the day!

State of the sector breakfast panel

Our Chief Revenue Officer, J Cromack, will kick things off by joining a breakfast panel discussing the state of the charity sector. This session will bring together key voices from across the sector to reflect on the current fundraising landscape and discuss current trends, opportunities and challenges.

Joining representatives from 3SG, Milsted Langdon and Stephens Scown, J will explore how Wood for Trees, part of Salocin Group, is guiding charities to realise their growth ambitions through the smart use of data, AI and technology. J will also delve further into emerging trends within the sector, as well as offer tips on how charities can gain a better understanding of their supporters and increase donor engagement.

Check out Wood for Trees’ new state of the sector 2025 report for a sneak peek at what trends and insights will be discussed on the day. We‘ve also got an upcoming webinar discussing the state of the sector with RSPCA and Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) – don’t miss out – register now!

Driving campaign success with data-driven insights

Join the Dots (part of Salocin Group) Head of Media Planning, Jodie Hanrahan, will present a sessionshowcasing the award-winning KSS ‘Buy it for Life’ emergency appeal. Jodie will deep dive into how data-driven audience insight and targeting allowed KSS to achieve its £1m goal in just seven weeks.

The session will explore:

  • How insight and analytics powered audience targeting with precision and influenced emotive messaging
  • Creative and media integration – showcasing the strategic alignment that drove rapid results
  • The level of community impact and how it was measured, including new donor acquisition and ROI, to achieve almost double the initial fundraising target

This session is a must-attend for fundraisers keen to discover how insight-led strategy can help achieve record-breaking outcomes in a short amount of time.

Whilst you wait until the main event, check out the full case study!

Navigating change: charity soft opt-in

J will follow on from Jodie’s session by exploring a vital development in the charity sector; now charity soft opt-in is included in the Data (Use & Access) Bill. This legislative milestone, which has the potential to create an extra £290m annual fundraising income for the UK sector, marks a pivotal change in how charities can engage with their supporters via email.

J will explain how this imminent change (DUA Bill expected to be enacted soon) will give charities the opportunity to send relevant marketing communications to supporters who’ve donated or engaged before, based on legitimate interest. This will allow organisations to create more engaging email journeys and experiences, if it’s approached compliantly and ethically.

J will also highlight the role that Wood for Trees played in lobbying for this change, working alongside the Data & Marketing Association (DMA) UK, supplying data analysis across 13m+ supporters and 20+ charities.

The message of this session will remain clear throughout – soft opt-in is not a shortcut, but an enabler of ethical engagement. It’s an opportunity for charities to build trust, boost supporter engagement and increase fundraising income, all while creating smarter communication strategies.

In addition to this talk, you can find out more in our upcoming soft opt-in explainer webinar with DMA UK – register here.

See you there

If you’re attending the conference, pop by our stand to say hello and ask us more about data-driven strategies and preparing for soft opt-in success – see you there! For full event details and tickets, visit the official event page.
