Independent… but part of a group. How does that work?

By Join the Dots | 5 Feb 2025

Although we’re part of Salocin Group, we operate as an independent buyer. This is what we mean when we say we’re an independent agency. And it’s one of our key strengths.

It means we’re not tied to any predetermined deals and remain media neutral. All our planning decisions are strategy-led and data-fed, driven and tailored to our clients’ specific audiences.

Importance of transparency

In an industry where trust is paramount, transparency from media agencies is more crucial than ever. Clients deserve to know how their investments are being utilised and the rationale behind strategic decisions. At Join the Dots, honesty is non-negotiable. We believe that by being forthright – even when the information may not be what our clients want to hear – we build stronger, more trusting relationships.

We prioritise our clients’ needs above all else. Our approach ensures every strategy is crafted with the client’s best interests at heart, aiming for the most effective results possible. We don’t take shortcuts or follow generic plans. Our commitment to transparency and a strategy-first approach positions us as a trusted partner dedicated to achieving unparalleled success for our clients.

We believe a transparent partnership is the foundation for achieving the best possible outcomes and we’re proud to uphold these values in every client engagement.

Keeping it clear is important to us

Pros of an independent media agency vs a network agency

Flexibility and agility

Independent agencies tend to be quick on their feet, able to adapt to market changes and client needs without all the red tape that comes with big network agencies.

Personal attention

Clients working with independent agencies usually get a more hands-on, personalised service. They have direct access to senior experts, meaning strategies are tailored to their needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

Innovation

Independent agencies are often more creative and experimental, embracing new tech and fresh ideas to keep campaigns ahead of the curve.

Cost-effectiveness

Independent agencies can offer more competitive pricing, making budgets stretch further. In fact, a 2022 ABC UK survey found 73% of media buyers and planners are willing to pay more for independently audited media, showing a growing trust in their transparency and reliability.

If you’d like to talk to us about what we can do for you as an independent agency, get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.
