Joining the dots for Samaritans

By Join the Dots | 22 Jul 2026
Samaritans

A new partnership to be proud of

We’re so happy to share that Join the Dots has been appointed as the new offline media agency for Samaritans – one of the UK’s most loved and trusted charities.

Following a competitive agency tender process, we were selected to support Samaritans with their cold mail channel acquisition programme, helping them reach new supporters and grow the income that funds their life-saving work.

About Samaritans

Samaritans is the charity working to prevent suicide through the power of human connection. Day or night, 365 days a year, trained volunteers are there to listen without judgement to anyone struggling to cope, whoever they are and whatever they’re facing. Every 10 seconds, Samaritans answers a call for help. Since 1953, Samaritans has been there for people at their darkest moments, whether by phone on freephone 116 123, face to face in local branches, or through their work in prisons, hospitals, schools and workplaces. More than 20,000 trained volunteers power this work across over 200 branches and locations. None of it happens without the generosity of donors, which is where we come in.

What we’ll be doing together

Our remit is to plan and deliver Samaritans’ offline media activity, with a focus on cold channel acquisition, finding the right new audiences, through the right channels, with the right message. Using our data-led, independent media thinking, we’ll help Samaritans connect with new supporters who want to get behind their cause for the long term.

It’s exactly the kind of work we love. Purposeful, evidence-based, and built around sustainable growth for a cause that genuinely matters.

After a competitive pitch process, we’re thrilled to be working with Join the Dots on our cold mail project this year. As we return to this channel for the first time in more than a decade, it’s an exciting moment for us to be partnering with a team that brings such depth of experience and creativity in this space. We’re looking forward to collaborating closely to create a campaign that engages new supporters, grows our reach, and ultimately helps ensure Samaritans can be there for even more people who needs us.

Jade Deeley, Head of Individual Giving, Samaritans

Why this partnership matters to us

At Join the Dots, we work with charities because we believe our independent, data-led approach makes a real difference to their ability to fund important work. The opportunity to partner with an organisation like Samaritans is one that we won’t be taking lightly.

We’re excited to get to work and we’re looking forward to showing what brilliant offline media, grounded in smart data and genuine sector expertise, can do for one of Britain’s most important charities. Watch this space.

Winning this brief means a huge amount to us. Samaritans does some of the most important work in this country, and I know from conversations across our team just how close to home that work hits for many of us. To have the opportunity to help them reach more supporters, grow their income, and ultimately fund more of that life-saving support puts us in a really privileged space. I’m incredibly proud of the team for what they put into this pitch, and I can’t wait to see what we build together with the amazing Samaritans team over the years ahead.
